Lovett named VP at Sauk Valley Bank-Dixon

DIXON – Local banking industry veteran Donald H. Lovett has joined Sauk Valley Bank-Dixon, as vice president and client services officer.

Lovett, who has 25 years of experience in banking, will work with customers and help to develop the Sauk Valley Bank franchise, said Dixon bank President Chuck Phillips.

"Don has been an integral part of the Dixon banking scene for a quarter century," Phillips said. "He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the Dixon community, and he understands the value of excellent customer service. We are delighted to have him as a member of our growing presence in Dixon."

Lovett began his banking career in 1980, as a part-time teller at Dixon National Bank while attending Iowa State University. Upon graduation, Don joined Dixon National Bank full time and rose to assistant vice president.

After Amcore acquired Dixon National in 1992, Don was promoted to vice president-private banking and later to vice president-regional sales.

"Joining Sauk Valley Bank-Dixon is a great opportunity to get back to my roots in community banking, in an organization where I can continue to serve the people of Dixon and the surrounding area," Lovett said. "Banking is really about building strong, lasting relationships with customers and making sure we are meeting their needs. That will be my primary focus."

Lovett is a member of the Sauk Valley Association of Realtors, and he has served in various community service organizations in Dixon: Rotary, Evening Lions, Dixon  Area Chamber of Commerce, Lee County United Way, and Dixon Main Street.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University in 1985, and is also a graduate of the Illinois Bankers' Association Real Estate Lending School, as well as their Agricultural Lending School. Lovett and his wife Nikki live in Dixon. They have four children.

Sauk Valley Bank was founded in 1999, in Sterling. With a strong focus on customer service, SVB quickly became one of the fastest-growing banks in northwest Illinois. It also has an office in Rock Falls.

The Dixon office, at 300 Walton Drive, opened in December 2006.
