The store, which opened in August 1989, specializes in hand-finished Amish-made furniture, including dining sets, bedroom sets, outdoor furniture and more.

The business has been serving Morrison and the surrounding area since 1971.

The station will feature dual ports, adapters to fit cars and fast charging so drivers can get “up to 80% charge in 15 to 20 minutes,” Red E Vice President of Operations Anthony Cacaj said

Nestled along the shoreline of Lake Carlton in Morrison-Rockwood State Park for the last five decades, the cabin-like restaurant has drawn in fishermen, people camping in the state park and motorists or bicyclists who head out to the lake to take in the scenery.

An open house at the store will be Thursday, June 6, with cake and refreshments, games, gift certificate giveaways, and a Morrison Chamber of Commerce ceremony at noon.

Amenities for the proposed travel center include gas stations, electric vehicle charging stations, a restaurant, convenience store and short-term overnight parking for long-haul truckers.
