Cracker Barrel, others get Joliet liquor licenses

Four restaurants get liquor licenses

The Cracker Barrel restaurant in Joliet will serve alcohol, and three other new and reopened restaurants in the city received liquor licenses this week.

Class B licenses allowing consumption on the premises were issued to all four restaurants.

The Cracker Barrel is located 1511 Riverboat Center Drive, near the Interstate 80 interchange with Houbolt Road.

Juliet’s Tavern downtown will reopen with a new owner, Bill Dimitroulas, who was among those approved for liquor licenses by the Joliet City Council on Tuesday.

Dimitroulas also was issued a liquor license for his new Rosemary Cafe on 1730 Essingtown Road.

Rosemary Cafe is the second occupant of the building, which had operated as Sonny’s Delite, a longtime Essington Road mainstay since the road first became a commercial corridor in Joliet.

“It’s great to have somebody in there after several years of being vacant,” Councilman Larry Hug said as the license was approved.

Also getting a liquor license was Red Crab Juicy Seafood, a new restaurant at 2314 W. Jefferson St.
