Will County government to host job fair March 24 in Joliet

Various county departments will be on hand to answer questions on open jobs, accept applications, conduct preliminary interviews

Interim Will County Executive Denise Winfrey announced the closure of the Will County Office Building in Joliet to the public starting Nov. 16, 2020, amid increasing cases of the novel coronavirus.

Will County will host a career fair for those interested in getting hired by various county departments.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon March 24 at the Will County Office Building, 302 N. Chicago St. in Joliet, according to a news release.

The Will County Executive’s Office and the Workforce Services Division of Will County are hosting the career fair.

“There are many great career opportunities within county government,” County Executive Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant said in a statement. “Will County offers strong benefits and opportunities for professional advancement. I encourage anyone who is seeking employment to attend this fair.”

Representatives from various county offices will be on-site to answer questions, accept applications and conduct preliminary interviews.

Departments participating will include the health department, land use department, children’s advocacy center, circuit clerk, veteran’s assistance commission, Sunny Hill Nursing Home, clerk’s office, public defender’s office and Laraway Communications Center.

“We are proud to partner with these county departments and help them find the best candidates for their open positions,” Michelle Stiff, director of the Workforce Services Division, said in a statement. “The staff of Workforce Services is committed to providing assistance to any resident in Will County who is looking for employment or would like to improve their future opportunities.”
