Lincoln-Way East's bid for its second state tournament appearance came up short with a 3-0 loss to O'Fallon in the supersectional round.

The senior leadership of Ellie Fiegl, the veteran presence of juniors Camden Cosich and Elizabeth Burfeind, and the youthful talent of freshman Adelyn Thomas have all surged Lincoln-Way East to the super sectional round.

After a second-half red card left Herscher shorthanded Saturday, Peotone got a goal from Allie Werner with 12:35 to go, giving the Blue Devils a 2-1 win in a dramatic IHSA Class 1A Coal City Sectional semifinal game against the Tigers.

Plainfield North's 3-2 overtime loss to Neuqua valley in the Class 3A Plainfield North Regional Finals brought an end to the Tigers' season, but the future is still plenty bright.

Lincoln-Way East fell behind by a goal early, but led by a goal at halftime and scored four goals in the second half to beat Sandburg 6-1 and win the Joliet Central Regional Championship.
