Parts of New Lenox Road in Joliet will close starting Monday

The city of Joliet announced Thursday that New Lenox Road will be closed starting Monday.

The closure, which will impact New Lenox Road between Briggs Street and Oakview Avenue, is due to improvements being made in association with the Love’s Truck Stop development, according to the city.

Weather permitting, the roadwork is expected to last until June 30.

A detour will be posted for the impacted area.

The city said it “appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation” during the project.
