A Plainfield man who was operating a motorcycle has died following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 in New Lenox.

At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the crash on the westbound lanes of I-80 at milepost 138, according to a statement from Illinois State Police.

“The driver lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle,” police said.

The operator of the motorcycle has been identified as Maximo Ortega, 21, of Plainfield, according to the Will County Coroner’s Office.
