Joliet high school students honored with College Board National Recognition Awards

The Joliet Township High School District 204 Board announced that a group of outstanding students from Joliet Central and Joliet West high schools earned College Board National Recognition Awards at its recent meeting.

Students were recognized in two categories: school recognition and first-generation recognition.

The School Recognition Award celebrates students who have demonstrated academic excellence within their school community. To qualify, a student must score among the top 10% of their school’s test-takers on the PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 and/or earn a 3 or higher on two or more distinct Advanced Placement exams by 10th grade.

The First-Generation Recognition Award recognizes students who have met the same criteria as the first member of their family to attend college.
