A two-day trial in Chicago over a false arrest lawsuit filed by former Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne Killian concluded on Thursday with a verdict that was not in his favor, court records show. 

A Joliet man who resides in the northeast part of the city was arrested after officers found 11 stolen vehicles, a stolen trailer, and a stolen tractor on his property, police said.

The task force, which planned to meet once per month, will meet next at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 1.

The St. Charles Dam task force members still have dozens of questions about the dam’s impact on the environment, the local economy, and the recreational use of the Fox River.

Amid a continued call for more COVID-19 testing in local schools during a statewide mandate, DeKalb District 428 officials said Tuesday SHIELD testing is targeted to arrive in October. The mandate began Monday, with all Illinois educators required to test weekly for the virus or provide proof of full vaccination.
