UScellular is offering not-for-profits an opportunity to receive free hotspots and service, part of a $13 million effort called After School Access Project to close the homework tech gap for 50,000 young people in areas served by the wireless carrier.
Organizations that meet the following criteria are eligible for the grant: are a certified 501c3, operate within a UScellular service area, focused on services for K-12 students and are not a school or government entity.
This effort builds on the company’s donation of 2,800 hotspots to 33 Boys and Girls Clubs across the country.
Hotspots are standalone wifi networks that connect several devices at once.
