STERLING – The Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce’s Professional Women’s Network Committee is hosting a Lunch and Learn workshop Wednesday, Jan. 29.

The “Time and Money Management Workshop” will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bethel Reformed Church, 230 E. 23rd St. in Sterling. The workshop shares several techniques for optimizing time and resource management and includes lunch, training and a chance to network with other Sauk Valley professionals.

One such professional is Dixon resident and guest speaker Suzanne Ravlin, CEO of Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. She has worked in manufacturing, health care, law and entrepreneurship, including teaching business law at Dixon’s Sauk Valley Community College.

Ravlin earned her finance degree from the University of Illinois and her juris doctorate from Michigan State College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Michigan.

Ravlin also is a certified mediator and regularly volunteers with the Sauk Valley College Foundation, Junior Achievement and St. Patrick’s Parish.

The event costs $25 for SVACC members and $45 for nonchamber members. Attendees must register by Jan. 22 at bit.ly/3Dly7Pi or call the SVACC at 815-625-2400.

The SVACC was founded in 1912 and works to promote regional business growth by working with local developers in the Sauk Valley and focusing on economic development and education. The chamber serves more than 13,400 employees across 30 cities in 12 counties throughout Illinois and parts of Iowa.

The PWN hosts quarterly luncheons addressing various topics relevant to today’s female professionals. The group was created to encourage networking and interaction among female professionals in the Sauk Valley area. Although the group is not exclusive to women and has no age requirements to participate, it focuses on the needs and interests of women in the workforce.
