A meeting of Rochelle’s American Legion Post 403 was held at the Petro Truck Stop on June 10. A presentation was made on the history of the 70th Tank Battalion on D-Day Normandy in 1944.

Attending that meeting were Jose Huerta, junior vice commander (from left); Eric Welles, finance officer; Gary Tarvestad, sergeant at arms; Steve Korth, adjutant; Chuck Roberts, commander and speaker; Russ Henson, senior vice commander; Paul Bearrows, chaplain; and John Gruben, youth activities officer.
