Raue Center for the Arts Brings Back Comedy on a Grand Scale!

June is a terrific month for comedy at Raue Center for the Arts! Lucy’s Comedy Live, a popular Raue offering for the past eight years, is back in full force.

On Friday, June 11th at 7:00 p.m., Lucy’s Comedy welcomes Larry Reeb (Uncle Lar’) and Todd Thomas to the Raue stage, with Ted Willson as host. Uncle Lar’ is known as a wise-cracking, politically incorrect comedian who offers tips on everything from children to lotteries to marriage. A regular on The Bob and Tom Show, which is syndicated in over 100 markets, Larry has been voted Chicago Comedian of the Year and has made numerous television and radio appearances.

Todd Thomas is a national headlining comedian, actor, and keynote speaker. He has appeared on TV One’s Who’s Got Jokes? and CMT’s Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Challenge, and recently recorded his 2021 clean-comedy special, set to be released in late summer, for Dry Bar Comedy.

Ted Willson is half of the popular online show That Checks Out. His polished wit and endearing charm have helped him build a following at clubs throughout the Midwest.

Raue switches gears on Saturday, June 12th at 7:00 p.m. by welcoming GreenRoom Improv to its historic stage. GreenRoom Improv has performed nationally for a wide range of audiences for 20 years, specializing in clean, high-energy improv comedy for all ages. This ensemble-based theatre company has residencies at Elgin’s Hemmens Cultural Center and Huntley’s The Cosman Theater.

On Friday, June 25th at 7:00 p.m., Lucy’s Comedy returns with Lance Richards and Tommy Schneeman! Chicago native Lance Richards developed his comedic skills at Columbia College, and now performs at colleges, festivals, and many top comedy clubs throughout the country, including The Comedy Store in L.A. and Zanies in Chicago.

Tommy Schneeman performs regularly at Chicago Improv, Zanies, The Laugh Factory, and The Comedy Bar in Chicago, and has opened for Louie Anderson. His comedy takes on hot-button topics like dating and corporate life.
