Fox River Grove toddler died of drowning, McHenry County coroner says

A 5-year-old who was pulled from a backyard pool Friday in Fox River Grove likely died of drowning, according to a preliminary finding announced Monday by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

The toddler was not identified in the coroner’s news release, which said an autopsy was performed on the child Friday after the emergency responders were called to the home.

Toxicology tests of the toddler’s body are still pending, according to the release.
