Scorched Earth makes donation to Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois

Algonquin-based brewery donated a share of the proceeds from its “Fierce Female” IPA beer, brewed in honor of International Women’s Day in March

Algonquin-based Scorched Earth Brewing Co. donated $2,000 last week to Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois, a share of the proceeds from its “Fierce Female” IPA beer that was brewed in honor of International Women’s Day in March.

The brewery donated 10% of its proceeds to the organization, according to a news release.

Girls on the Run is an after-school program for girls in grades 3 to 5 focused on building up a girls’ sense of self.

“We wanted to partner with a local charity and Girls on the Run was the perfect fit for this project,” co-owner Jennifer Dallas said in a statement. “[T]heir vision is positive and empowering, which is exactly the message we want to convey with this project.”

The branding for Fierce Female was a collaboration among the female employees at Scorched Earth and focuses on empowerment and highlighting women who have had a positive impact throughout history, according to the release.
