Hearthstone Ministries picks new vice president of finance

Move follows hiring of new chief financial officer earlier this month to replace retiring CFO

Heritage Ministries, which operates Hearthstone Communities in Woodstock, named a new vice president of finance for the organization, a move that follows the naming of a new chief financial officer earlier this month.

Matthew Boswell, a certified public account from Rochester, New York, began his career at Heritage Ministries in 2018, previously serving as the director of budgets, financial Reporting, and reimbursement, according to a news release.

Boswell, a native of Mechanicsville, Maryland, worked as a manager with a top 40 accounting firm’s health care division before joining Heritage, according to the release. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics from Rochester Institute of Technology and brings a decade of professional experience in the finance field to his new role.

In his new role , Boswell will assist and direct financial strategy for Heritage by managing the overall budgetary process, which will include overseeing the preparation of monthly financial reports and monitoring of key performance indicators, according to the release. He will also provide oversight regarding regulatory and reimbursement related filings for Heritage and its affiliates, nationwide.

In addition to the Woodstock location, Heritage Ministries includes its original campus in Gerry, New York, and five other locations in New York with additional providers in Pennsylvania and Washington. It employs about 1,500 people and serves more than 2,500 individuals annually.
