Woodstock High School, Creekside Middle School report threats

Woodstock High School is seen Aug. 4, 2020

The Woodstock Police Department is investigating threats made regarding two Woodstock schools.

A threat involving violence with a firearm at Woodstock High School was made Tuesday, Woodstock police said on Facebook. A threat to Creekside Middle School was also circulating on social media.

Police said the Creekside Middle School threat involved a social media rumor stemming from an incident that occurred Monday. The Facebook post did not say what the incident was.

“The student in question regarding the threat is suspended and not allowed on school property,” police said on Facebook.

Steps have been taken in both cases to ensure the safety of all students and staff, Woodstock police said. At Woodstock High School, an increased presence was planned for Wednesday.

Attempts to reach the Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock School District 200 Wednesday were not immediately successful.
