The Cary Basketball Association announced its four scholarship winners this year, with three from Cary-Grove and one from Prairie Ridge.
Brandon Poe (Iowa State), Carson Hendry (Loras University) and Cole Wolfram (Washington) were the winners from C-G. Bennett Barr (Marquette) was the winner from Prairie Ridge.
The winners were selected based on the number of years playing basketball, refereeing, scorekeeping and volunteering with the CBA, as well as their grade-point average, faculty recommendations and an essay.
The CBA has provided youth ages kindergarten through high school basketball opportunities since 1993. The CBA offers both recreation and more competitive feeder programs. It wants to encourage sportsmanship while allowing players from all ages and skill levels to play with friends and compete at the highest level.
