Police are seeking the owner of two horses found wandering near Woodstock.

The two mares, one black and one buckskin, were found in the 3200 block of Vermont Road, southwest of Woodstock and northeast of Marengo, according to a McHenry County Sheriff’s alert that went out just before 2 a.m. Monday.

A nearby resident took in the horses while authorities search for the owner.
