East central McHenry County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 430 p.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service said a storm was spotted at 3:47 p.m. Sunday over McHenry.
60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail is possible with the storm, the weather bureau said. People can expect hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding and trees.
Scattered thunderstorms are possible through the evening, the weather service said.
