Oglesby Fun Fest returns June 17-20

Vendors will take precautions to ensure safety

Mayor Dom Rivara had said Oglesby Summer Fun Fest was a go this year. Now, the mask mandate has been eased and families can enjoy the four-day festival as safely as ever.

Oglesby Summer Fun Fest runs June 17-20 at the Oglesby pool grounds. The four-day festival includes a carnival and midway, kid-friendly activities, live entertainment and closes with a fireworks display.

Rivara said he checked with the carnival company and they assured him they’ll adhere to all required infection controls. Concessionaires working inside food trucks will be masked. The ride operators will be outside and won’t wear masks but will wipe down the rides regularly.

“It seems like we’re in good shape,” Rivara said.

The family-friendly event provides free entertainment including live music with no cover charge. Residents from across North Central Illinois are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the many free entertainment acts.

Volunteers are needed and are asked to call City Hall at 815-883-3389.
