IVCC agriculture students develop skills with simulator

‘Students are gaining a virtual perspective’ instructor says

Precision agriculture students at Illinois Valley Community College are enjoying use of a sprayer simulator on loan from GRAINCO FS.

The simulator provides introductory, intermediate and advanced training in driving, field navigation and row crop production. Students are required to complete four simulator modules for beginners.

“Students are gaining a virtual perspective of the skill and talent required to operate high tech commercial sprayers,” IVCC ag instructor Willard Mott said.

“The GRAINCO FS sprayer simulator is as close to operating the real thing as you can get without the risk of a real machine,” Mott said.

The simulator will be in the ag lab through the end of week.
