Two men were indicted Tuesday for robbery in connection with a Sept. 28 forced entry in a La Salle home, where knives were brandished.

A La Salle County grand jury convened Tuesday and handed down a one-count indictment against Tyler J. Briddick, 23, of Peru, who faces an extended term up to 14 years in prison due to his criminal history. He is being held on $100,000 bond.

Ethan B. Martin, 24, of La Salle, faces 3-7 years in prison. He remains held on $50,000 bond.

La Salle police opened an investigation after a report of unlawful entry into a residence in the 500 block of Gooding Street. There, Briddick and a teen allegedly seized a cellular telephone from the resident — prosecutors said knives were brandished — while Martin kept lookout.

The juvenile, a 17-year-old Spring Valley boy, faces an additional felony charge for allegedly robbing a 62-year-old pedestrian at knifepoint in the 500 block of First Street. He will next appear Oct. 19 in juvenile court.
