John Davis won a pair of matches Wednesday as the Putnam County-Hall wrestling team split a triangular at Amboy.
The Panthers beat the host Clippers 30-24 and lost to Newman 48-21.
Davis won 6-5 at 285 pounds against Newman and won by pin against Amboy.
Connor Brooker (170) and Bailey Herr (182) recorded pins against the Comets, while Denzel Sobin won by pin against Amboy.

Ethan Hanaman recorded a pair of pins Wednesday as Mendota went 0-2-1 at a quadrangular.
The Trojans tied Mooseheart 30-30 and lost to Coal City 78-36 and Plano 54-18.

The St. Bede boys and girls teams swept Sterling on Tuesday at Blackhawk Lanes.
Trenton Acuncius rolled a 765 series with games of 266, 220 and 279 to lead the Bruins to a 3,255-3,172.
Haiden Ator added a 542 for St. Bede.
In the girls match, Veronica Martin bowled a 506 series to lead St. Bede to a 2,474-2,142 victory.
