Re-Imagine Mendota to host Fall Fest

Event set Oct. 16 on Illinois Avenue in Mendota

The Re-Imagine Mendota Fall Festival is scheduled 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, in the 700 block of Illinois Avenue. This will be the first event under the Re-Imagine Mendota’s new name.

The one-way street will be shut down to allow visitors a chance to check out the improvements to Mendota’s downtown area.

The festival will kick off by serving brats and pork chop sandwiches beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event also will have various beer, wine, seltzer, soda pop and water available.

There will be desserts made by the Business and Professional Women’s Club. The club will be selling homemade treats to support the annual scholarships it provides.

The band Free Beer and Chicken will be performing from 6 to 10 p.m. and other items including a 50/50 drawing, raffles and other activities will take place throughout the evening. There is no charge to enjoy the music.

Re-Imagine Mendota plans to have some fire pits set up if the temperature gets chilly.

The funds will be raised to support Re-Imagine Mendota’s next event that will take place in December and will be used to purchase street signs for Illinois Avenue.
