La Salle-Peru High athletic director receives honor

Award was presented by the Illinois Athletic Directors Association

La Salle-Peru High School Athletic Director Dan Le was honored as one of the New Athletic Directors of the Year by the Illinois Athletic Directors Association during the state conference this week.

The award recognized Le’s commitment, desire, loyalty, character and leadership qualities to administer a high school athletic program that upholds the highest standards of discipline, honesty and dignity.

Le was one of three athletic directors in Illinois to be recognized for this distinguished honor this year.

The New Athletic Directors of the Year Award was started in 2021 to celebrate the good work of any first year AD that is also a member of the IADA. Candidates were nominated by their peers and reviewed by the IADA Board.

Winners were chosen based on the accomplishments and work they have accumulated in their school during the year.

Superintendent Steven Wrobleski congratulated Le on his hard work and success during his time at LPHS.

“We are incredibly proud of (Le’s) recognition as one of the IADA’s New Athletic Directors of the year,” Wrobleski said. “I’m happy that (Le’s) qualities as a leader were recognized by his peers, especially as we see daily the great work (Le) does to support the athletics and activities programs at L-P.”
