Bullpen shines as Pistol Shrimp edge LumberKings

Damen Castillo delivered a two-run single in the top of the eighth inning to lead the Illinois Valley Pistol Shrimp to a 3-1 victory over the Clinton LumberKings in Clinton, Iowa.

Justin Rios hit a game-tying RBI single in the top of the seventh for Illinois Valley.

Evan Clark started for the Shrimp, allowing one run on three hits with six strikeouts and three walks in five innings.

The Illinois Valley bullpen threw four scoreless innings.

The Pistol Shrimp (4-9) plays the Springfield Sliders (6-5) at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Veterans Park in Peru.
