The annual Kites in Flight festival took place Sunday at Heritage Harbor in Ottawa. Families had the opportunity to fly kites, make crafts, watch professional kite flyers and fly their own kites.

A light wind made conditions not favorable for kite flying. Chicago Kite, a company known throughout the city and suburbs for bringing larger-than-life novelty kites, brought their kites and were only able to fly for a short time.
