As a partner in the international DAISY Award program that recognizes nurses’ clinical skill and compassionate care, OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa recently awarded its DAISY Award to Shannon Sibert, BSN, RN.
Sibert is a registered nurse and works in the obstetrics unit at St. Elizabeth. Sibert has worked for more than 15 years at OSF and resides in Ottawa.
“We truly appreciate the compassionate care that RNs perform every day and the DAISY Award is one way to recognize these dedicated individuals,” said Heather Bomstad, vice president/chief nursing officer for OSF St. Elizabeth.
Sibert’s nomination included, “Not only were you one of many nurses that took amazing care of me, but you took my pain very seriously and explained my options. You are very friendly and caring and always in a positive mood. You made sure I was comfortable, and if I wasn’t, you found a way to help me. You are a hero in my book. Thank you so much for the care you gave me during my stay. I am so glad they put me to be one of your patients.”
The DAISY Award program can be found in more than 2,000 healthcare facilities in all 50 states and 14 other countries. OSF HealthCare encourages patients, family members, and fellow staff to recognize caregivers who have provided exceptional care and service by nominating them for an award to honor their dedication.
