Minor injury reported in Ottawa house fire

Fire controlled within 15 minutes

A minor injury was reported Wednesday night following a two-story house fire on First Avenue in Ottawa.

The injured individual did not require transportation to a hospital, said Deputy Chief Brian Bressner. The fire at 444 First Ave. was under control in about 15 minutes, after firefighters were called shortly after 8 p.m. Bressner said no one was home at the time of the fire, but the injury occurred after the fire began.

Bressner said at about 9 p.m. the fire remains under investigation as crews continued to work at the scene. Firefighters from Marseilles, Naplate, Wallace, Utica and Grand Ridge responded to the fire.
