Power outage affects more than 500 Ottawa residents

Marquette, YMCA among those affected

Marquette Academy High School and the Ottawa YMCA were among those without power Wednesday.

A day after the Ottawa area was affected by a mass internet outage for Mediacom customers, Ameren Illinois reported a power outage of more than 500 of its customers in the Ottawa area. A cause has not been reported.

Crews were working, however, early evening Wednesday on utility poles on Jackson Street, just off Walnut Street.

Power was restored by 8 p.m., according to Ameren Illinois’ outage map.
