Epworth Church in Ottawa introduced a new pastor, Rev. Satya Sudhakar, to its congregation on July 1.
Rev. Sudhakar followed God’s call into the ordained ministry in 2009 when she enrolled at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago to pursue her Masters in Divinity. She is working toward her Doctorate of Ministry there, as well.
She has served as pulpit supply clergy in the Episcopal, Methodist and Church of the South Indian churches.
Sudhakar believes Christian worship can only be called a Christ-centered worship when all of God’s people, including children, people of color, the differently-abled and people of all genders are equally welcomed and embraced with the goal of fulfilling Christ’s mission with elements of love, justice and peace.
She is married to Rev. Dr. Solomon Sudhakar, who is the Minister of Grace at UMC La Salle and has two daughters, Arunima and Christina.
