New seafood restaurant coming to Ottawa’s downtown

Channahon restaurant owner to open eatery at former Pink Chihuahua location

Beach House, a new seafood restaurant, is tentatively opening at the end of August at 700 La Salle St. in Ottawa.

This location formerly housed The Pink Chihuahua and the Bee Hive Restaurant.

Owner John Mathias said the restaurant will feature an open kitchen, where diners will be able to watch chefs cook their food and shuck fresh oysters.

“I’ve been doing this since my late teens and I’ve worked in Los Angeles and Philadelphia, where I’m from, and my wife is from Boston,” Mathias said. “Seafood is in our DNA.”

The restaurant will feature more than just seafood, and it also will have a full bar.

Mathias also owns Pesciolino Osteria in Channahon, an Italian restaurant.
