A 39-year-old Sandwich woman was taken to a DeKalb hospital following a two-vehicle crash Saturday at Somonauk and McGirr roads in DeKalb County.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Debrock, 55, of Wyanet, was traveling west bound at 6:43 p.m. Saturday on McGirr Road when he failed to yield at the stop intersection of Somonauk Road. Frieders was traveling south bound on Somonauk Road and struck Debrock’s vehicle in the rear passenger’s side with the front middle of her vehicle.
Police said Frieders’ vehicle came to rest in the roadway just south of intersection. Debrock’s vehicle ran off the roadway into the north ditch west of the intersection and overturned coming to rest on its roof.
Frieders was taken to Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
Debrock cited on a complaint of failure to yield to avoid an accident.
