The annual Bill's Barktoberfest took place on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Jordan block in Ottawa, featuring various activities just for dogs. The event honors Bill Walsh Sr. and his passion for dogs. Proceeds benefit Bill's Barking Lot City Dog Park.

One River Zen in Ottawa, in partnership with the Arts of Starved Rock Country Fund, has selected writer Alexandria Braboy and artist David Arthur for an eight-week residency focused on the intersection of art, community, and Zen practices.

Ottawa High School held its annual homecoming parade on Wednesday in downtown Ottawa.

The fund provides basic needs such as shoes, coats, and school supplies to less fortunate needy students. The funds are generated from an Elks National Foundation Gratitude Grant.

All Democrats are welcome and encouraged to attend. Food can be purchased through the La Salle VFW.

The Ottawa Historical and Scouting Heritage Museum will host a trivia night on Wednesday Oct. 8 at the museum. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
