Eyes on Enterprise: Former La Salle County state’s attorney returns to roots

Donnelly will share office with attorney Tim Creedon

Karen Donnelly

Karen Donnelly has returned to where it all began at 501 State St., Ottawa.

In 1986, she began her career at the South Side side office as a legal secretary and she’s now returning after 36 years.

Donnelly will be sharing office space with attorney Tim Creedon.

“While our areas of practice differ, I am excited to have Karen back in the office where I watched her develop her skills and love of the law,” Creedon said in a press release. “She will be an asset to those I do not serve in La Salle County.”

Her practice will focus on divorce, custody, post-dissolution, child support, allocation of parenting time and adoption; criminal defense, including all levels of felonies, misdemeanors, DUI, driving while suspended or revoked and petty traffic offenses; wills and probate; social security; administrative review of driver’s license with Secretary of State; civil asset forfeitures as part of criminal prosecutions; small claims and collections; orders of protection and no stalking/contact orders; juvenile delinquency; and juvenile abuse and neglect proceedings involving Department of Child and Family Services.

In addition to being a former state’s attorney in La Salle County, Donnelly was a prosecutor in Grundy County. Her office can be reached at 815-433-4775.
