After seven years of ownership, the Pflibsen family sold The Eastwood golf course, wedding venue and restaurant in Streator to Brandon Urbance and Lily Ramirez, who both own and operate Streator’s Dairy Queen, making the transaction “official” Friday.
Prior to owning and operating The Eastwood, the Pflibsen family owned and operated Twin Creeks Golf Course for 40 years. The Pflibsens bought the former Streator Country Club and made several renovations to the facility.
“Thank you to the Pflibsens for everything they’ve done for the community these last 40 years,” the new owners, Urbance and Ramirez, posted to the course’s Facebook page. “As of (Friday) morning we have officially become the new owners of The Eastwood! We couldn’t be more excited for this opportunity and share many memories on the golf course and in our wedding venue!”
The restaurant will be closed for the next couple weeks, the new owners said.
The Pflibsen family said they will help with the transition.
“Retirement will be a big adjustment for our family, but knowing we will be able to enjoy the restaurant, the venue and the golf course right along side of you is invaluable!” the family said in a Facebook statement. “Joining you for drinks at the bar, showing off our best moves on the dance floor under the tent, having dinner together with our growing families and beating your longest drive on the course — to put it simply, The Pflibsen gang could not be more excited for this transition.”
