The Marquette girls basketball team used a 14-3 fourth-quarter advantage to earn a 53-33 Tri-County Conference victory over rival Woodland at Bader Gymnasium. The Lady Crusaders were led by Jaci Miller [13 points, seven rebounds, four steals], Alex Ratajczak [12 points, eight rebounds], Jordie Bongartz [10 points], and Krista Taglia [seven assists, four steals]. The Lady Warriors received 11 points from Katie Spanoil and six points from Sammi Cook.

The Flanagan girls hoops team rolled to a 38-12 halftime lead and eventually topped Midstate Conference foe Fieldcrest 58-24 in Minonk. The Lady Falcons Brittany Leonard led the way with 20 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals while also surpassing the 1,000-career point mark. Megan Laughlin added 17 points, five rebounds, four assists, and 11 blocked shots for Flanagan, with Anna Jones posting 11 points and nine steals. The Lady Knights were paced by eight points and seven boards from Alaina Sunken and six points and seven caroms from Kristen Ragusa.

The Serena girls basketball squad pushed to a 30-18 halftime lead over host Paw Paw and held on for a 43-36 Little Ten Conference triumph. The Lady Huskers were led by Megan Cantlin [10 points, four assists] and Emily Zemanek [eight points], while the Lady Bulldogs were led by Karley Nicholson [15 points] and Brooke Iversen [12 points].

The Ottawa boys basketball team outscored visiting Streator 19-16 in overtime to claim a 61-58 North Central Illinois Conference victory at Kingman Gymnasium. The Pirates were paced by game-highs in points [25] and rebounds [11] from Matt White, with Ryan Alvarado adding 11 points. The Bulldogs received 15 points from Brian Turner, 14 points [including four 3-pointers] from Dave Sabino, and 11 points from Jim Cherveny.

The Fieldcrest boys hoops club led 39-25 at halftime in running past Midstate Conference host Tri-Point 83-56. The Knights were led by Michael Hall [16 points], Ryne Hagg [14 points], Andy Craig [13 points], and 10 points each from Drew Glowacki and Dan Reichman.

The Sandwich boys hoops squad burst to an 18-7 first-period lead in an eventual 64-43 triumph over visiting Dwight. Bret Shumway netted 15 points for the Indians, while Jesse Foley added 12 points on four 3-pointers, and Pete Jablonski grabbed 11 rebounds.

John Nelson and Ted Hughes each poured in 22 points for the Crusaders, the former grabbing nine rebounds and the latter seven caroms, while Jason Hermann chipped in 14 points.
