The Benet volleyball team's season ended Saturday with a loss to Marist in the Class 4A state championship match for the second year in a row.

Nazareth's magical postseason run, after going 3-31 last year, ended with a runner-up finish in Class 3A as the Roadrunners came up short against Normal U-High 25-20, 25-20 in Saturday's Class 3A final.

Benet won a back-and-forth first set with Lockport and went on to a 25-23, 25-16 win in Friday's Class 4A state semifinal to advance to its fourth straight state championship match. The Redwings will play Marist Saturday in a rematch of last year's final.

Cinderella Nazareth, 3-31 last year, is back at the state volleyball tournament for the first time since 2022, and play in a Class 3A semifinal Friday. Meanwhile in Class 4A Benet is back for the fourth straight year, looking to top three straight runner-up appearances.

Lockport is heading back to the state volleyball tournament for the second straight year after beating Oak Park-River Forest in the 4A Hinsdale Central Super Sectional.

Benet clinched its fourth consecutive trip to the Class 4A state semifinals with a 25-15, 25-12 victory over New Trier in the Bartlett supersectionals.

Nazareth’s magical season will wind up in a familiar place - Illinois State University - following a 27-25, 25-18 victory over Fenwick in the Class 3A De La Salle Supersectional Monday night. 

Oak Park-River Forest rallied to top Downers Grove North 25-20, 10-25, 25-23 in the Class 4A Lyons Township Sectional final and rubber match between the West Suburban Silver co-champions.

Benet girls volleyball continued its quest for its fourth consecutive trip to state, taking down St. Charles North for the third time this season to clinch the Class 4A Glenbard West Sectional title.

Nazareth, which won just three matches a year ago, continued its turnaround season Thursday. The Roadrunners rallied from a set down to beat Geneva in a 23-25, 25-21, 25-22 thriller to win the Class 3A Timothy Christian Sectional title.

Providence Catholic defeated Lemont in two sets, 25-15, 25-18, to claim the IHSA Class 3A Kankakee Sectional championship title on Thursday, Nov. 6, 2025.

Downers Grove North remained calm Tuesday despite facing rival Downers Grove South in the Class 4A Lyons Township Sectional semifinals. The Trojans withstood several comebacks and powerful attacks and serves to prevail 26-24, 25-23.
