After going back and forth for the majority of the contest, Benet pulled away in the final set with six of the final eight points to come away with a three set victory over St. Charles North.

Led by medalist Michael Johnson, who shot a 4-under par 68 for a two-shot win, Wheaton Warrenville South (292) edged Hinsdale Central (293) for the regional title. That, Wheaton Academy boys golf wins regional plus volleyball results in Wednesday's roundup.

Wednesday was not the day St. Charles North was ready to concede its run, winning its nonconference match over St. Francis, 25-18, 25-22 in St. Charles. That extended its match-winning streak to 17 and its set-winning streak to 34.

Led by freshman Lauren Gauss, who tied for the low round with a 75, Benet shot a 320 to win the Class 2A Glenbard West Regional. Elsewhere, Downers Grove South's Miah Wanserski shot a 74 to tie for the low round at the 2A Hinsdale South Regional.
