DuPage County tops 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered; 91 new infections reported Monday

The DuPage County Health Department on Monday reported 91 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with no deaths.

The county now has seen a total of 72,045 coronavirus cases including 1,195 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Feb. 23 was 98.2%.

DuPage County has administered 202,847 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 61,834 people, or 6.66% of the population, have been fully vaccinated.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 40 consecutive days under 8%. The region’s positivity rate stayed flat at 3.5%. Currently, 29% of ICU beds are available.

The region has 78 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.

Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average is at 3.8% and DuPage County is at 3.4%.

Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable for eight out of the last 10 days in this region.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,143 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 20 additional deaths Monday, and a total of 2,756,831 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.

By town, Wheaton has had 3,861 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,740, Lombard 3,766, Villa Park 2,259, Hinsdale 1,182, Westmont 1,822, Darien 1,506, Woodridge 2,249, Downers Grove 3,486, Elmhurst 3,705, Warrenville 1,122 and Winfield 930. Addison has had 4,374 confirmed cases, Naperville 6,279, Carol Stream 3,837 and West Chicago 3,920.
