DuPage County reports 145 COVID-19 cases Thursday, 10 deaths, 4.05% of population fully vaccinated

The DuPage County Health Department on Saturday reported 145 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the county, with 10 deaths: 1 man in his 50s, 1 woman in her 70s, 2 women in their 80s, 2 men in their 80s and 4 women in their 90s.

The county now has seen a total of 70,974 coronavirus cases including 1,172 deaths, according to the health department. The recovery rate among DuPage County cases as of Feb. 9 was 98.2%.

DuPage County has administered 142,668 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. A total of 37,610 people, or 4.05% of the population, have been fully vaccinated.

The West Suburban region (DuPage and Kane counties) has seen 17 consecutive days at or under 6.5%. The region’s positivity rate stayed the same at 4.3%. Currently, 30% of ICU beds are available.

The region has 67 consecutive days over the 20% threshold for ICU bed availability.

Within this region, Kane County’s seven-day positivity average is at 4.5% and DuPage County is at 4.2%.

Hospitalizations have decreased or remained stable for 10 out of the last 10 days in this region.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,966 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 and 72 additional deaths Thursday, and a total of 1,977,033 COVID-19 vaccines have been administered.

By town, Wheaton has had 3,803 total cases, Glen Ellyn 2,709, Lombard 3,725, Villa Park 2,224, Hinsdale 1,163, Westmont 1,798, Darien 1,478, Woodridge 2,208, Downers Grove 3,400, Elmhurst 3,638, Warrenville 1,110 and Winfield 922. Addison has had 4,311 confirmed cases, Naperville 6,153, Carol Stream 3,800 and West Chicago 3,873.
