If you’re remodeling your home, or planning to build new, you’ll have several choices to consider for your flooring. Two wonderful options include Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) and Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) flooring, both of which offer terrific benefits for homeowners. Both are affordable alternatives to higher-priced hardwood or stone flooring, are very durable, and are easy to install. Here are 3 things to know about LVT and LVP:
1. Luxury Vinyl Tile and Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring are both constructed of several layers. While LVT generally comes in traditional tile squares, and LVP comes in a rectangular plank shape with varying widths and lengths, they are manufactured in the same way. Both products consist of a PVC core, a designed print film on top, and a durable wear layer on top of that. Either can come with an optional attached backing for added comfort and sound reduction. The overall thickness and wear layer can differ between the two, depending on the preference of the homeowner.
2. LVT and LVP offer many design options in addition to the look of stone or wood. Luxury vinyl imaging ideas include ceramic, fabric, bamboo, art, and even animal prints. Advancements in technology have led to a nearly endless selection of printed picture options. The ability to utilize different patterns also lends itself to experimenting with tile and plank placement, such as in a herringbone, staggered, or chevron pattern, or mixing differently colored tile squares for a unique look.
3. Luxury Vinyl Tile and Plank flooring are both terrific choices for busy families. Not only are both extremely durable, some types come with additional scratch resistance and water resistance. These options are great for homeowners with children and pets, as maintenance and cleaning requirements are minimal.
Both LVT and LVP flooring options are the hottest products in floorcoverings these days. For more information, please contact:
