Letter: Elections have consequences

To the Editor:

Driving past a few gas stations reminded me of a quote from a few years back — “Elections have consequences.” Wow, how true.

Just over a year ago we were paying around $2.25 for a gallon gas. Today, prices at the pump range from $4.49 to $4.59 per gallon. About a year and a half ago, we had Arab countries signing peace agreements with Israel, now we have the Taliban in control of Afghanistan and Russia invading Ukraine.

I could go on to discuss China, Iran and North Korea. Or what we have seen transpire at our southern border or inflation. How about the lack of a plan to handle the COVID-19 pandemic? The list is long.

Elections do indeed have consequences. Remember in November. — Dave Muffler, Mazon
