Morris Lions Car Show enjoys big weekend

35th annual event welcomes Orphan Show, raffles off ‘66 Chevelle

MORRIS — The Morris Lions Club 35th Annual Classic Car Show took place at the Grundy County Fairgrounds over the weekend.

More than 100 cars were displayed in the new Orphan Show on Saturday and more than 700 show cars on Sunday for a very successful car show weekend.

The raffle car, a 1966 Chevy Chevelle SS, was won by Mike M. from LaSalle who picked up the car Monday. Other winners in the raffle were: $2000 - Frank S. of Streator; GM GO Cart - John S. of Beecher; $500 - Karina Z. of Chicago; $500 - Collin Y of Peoria; $100 - Jeff D of Plainfield; $100 - Mike T.; $100 - Jeff C. of La Grange; $100 - Bob E. of Morris; and $100 - Skip C. of Homer Glen.

Morris Lions thanks the many volunteers and groups that helped make this show so successful.
