The 2024 boys soccer season has come and gone. Now it’s time to recognize the best of the best. Here’s the 2024 Herald-News All-Area Boys Soccer Team.

The Coal City boys soccer team defeated host Streator 4-0 on Tuesday at the James Street Recreation Center to close out Illinois Central Eight Conference play for each side.

In an area with no shortage of talent, these players stood above the rest to make up the 2023 Herald-News All-Area Boys Soccer Team.

Lemont's Tyler Chrisman, Bolingbrook's Aaron Palacios-Chaves, Romeoville's Isaiah Pina, Lincoln-Way Central's John Roussakis and Plainfield Central's Marshall DeGraff earned All-State nods from the Illinois High School Soccer Coaches Association.

After finishing as the Class 3A state runner-up last season, Romeoville is hoping to make another big run when the Class 2A and 3A playoffs kick into full gear. Many area teams seem well-positioned for a big postseason.

Lincoln-Way Central's long unbeaten streak continues and includes a recent tournament title. Joliet Catholic also brought home some hardware and playoff pairings have been revealed.
