Museums host ‘Ask a Curator’

DeKALB – Do you have a favorite kind of historical object, and wonder if it appears in local history collections? Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes in a museum’s collection storage? Do you have questions about how to care for your own treasures?

At noon Thursday, May 6, Michelle Donahoe and Audrey King will pull back the curtain, answering questions about their work at the DeKalb County History Center and Ellwood House Museum, respectively. Both museums will share prompts on social media in the week prior to the lecture, which viewers can vote on to guide the discussion, in addition to sending in their own.

“Ask a Curator” is the fourth free event in the museums’ monthly Brown Bag Lunch/Local Lore series. Each one-hour program is held virtually via Zoom.

To register, visit either museum’s Facebook page, or call 815-756-4609. To submit a question, contact Audrey King at king@ellwoodhouse.org.

Brown Bag Lunch/Local Lore is supported by the Mary E. Stevens Concert and Lecture Fund.
