Dine-in at BBQ’d Productions now to Dec. 31 for shot at cash prizes up to $1,000, more

About 2,000 ‘no-peek’ red envelopes still available

THIRD LAKE – If the award-winning flavors and tantalizing aromas of BBQ’d Productions restaurants weren’t enough to bring diners in the door, barbecue lovers now have 4,000 extra reasons.

BBQ’d Productions is in the midst of its annual red-envelope customer appreciation campaign. Each of the 4,000 envelopes contains prizes, including a top prize of $1,000. Among the other prizes are four Apple iPads, four 55-inch LG flat-screen TVs and two brand-new smokers from Smokin’ Deal BBQ in Mundelein. Other prizes range from a free dessert to an entire table’s tab paid off at 100 percent.

About $100,000 in prizes are in the offing.

Dine in at any of the BBQ’d Productions restaurants in Third Lake, Lake Zurich or Kenosha, Wisconsin, between now and Dec. 31 – or as long as supplies last – to receive a “no peek” red envelope. Of the 4,000 envelopes that were stuffed, about 2,000 remained available as of mid-December, owner Kris Schoenberger said.

To claim a prize, the recipient must not open the envelope before a return visit to any of the restaurants between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28. After finishing the meal upon the return trip, recipients should hand the envelope to the server for the big reveal, Schoenberger said.

“It’s a lot of fun, and it’s a great way to give back to the customers who have been so good to us over the years,” Schoenberger said. “So many people have supported us, especially through this pandemic.”

Schoenberger said he’s included more cash prizes this year than in past campaigns. In addition to the $1,000 top prize, four envelopes contain a $500 voucher and 10 envelopes contain $100 each.

Winners of the smokers will enjoy a tour of Smokin’ Deal BBQ and can select their favorite smoker from several choices worth up to $1,500 each.

There is no limit to the number of red envelopes a customer can receive. Dine in a few times a week and receive an envelope each time while supplies last. The one note of caution Schoenberger offered was “don’t peek.” A special glue was used to seal each envelope, and restaurant employees will know if tampering occurred, he said.
