Event with Backdated Band with Jay Goeppner to help raise money for no-kill animal shelter

GRAYSLAKE – Save-A-Pet, a no-kill animal rescue and adoption center, is hosting a concert fundraiser featuring the Backdated Band with Jay Goeppner.

The family-friendly event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. Aug. 21 at Penny Road Pub, 545 Penny Road, Barrington.

The Backdated Band with Jay Goeppner features music from The Beatles and other bands from the 1960s and ’70s.

Concertgoers can choose to sit indoors in front of the stage or outdoors. Don’t miss the chance to take a selfie with the Abby Road backdrop.

There will be a cash bar with Save-A-Pet drink specials for $5 such as a Pink Poodle, Salty Chihuahua, Moscow “Mew” and a Spiked Kitty Cocktail. Domestic draft beer is available for $2, and there is a full service bar with many options priced accordingly, a news release stated.

The event also will feature a raffle.

“It is so great to finally be able to host an in-person event. We look forward to seeing friends, old and new, at this concert and hope to earn some much-needing funds for the animals rescued by Save-A-Pet,” said Deb Rabine, development manager.

Tickets can be purchased on the Save-A-Pet website at www.saveapetil.org. Click on the link in the page header. Tickets are $15 for the concert. Children 11 and under are free with the purchase of a meal. There are a variety of meal options available, including vegetarian and vegan options, for $10.
