Shopko Optical, an eye care based in Green Bay, Wisconsin, is looking to open a new location this June at 28928 W. Route 120 in Lakemoor, the company said in a news release.
The new location, which would be the seventh Shopko Optical center in the Chicago area, would be staffed by Kathryn Wilson, a doctor of optometry, according to the release. Wilson, a graduate from the Illinois College of Optometry, will provide comprehensive eye care services, including eye exams, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis and treatment of eye disease.
“Opening this new center in Lakemoor is a big win for our patients and the Shopko Optical family,” Shopko Optical CEO Russ Steinhorst said in the release. “Dr. Wilson has been working in the area for a long time and consistently strives to establish a personal connection with each of her patients. She is eager to continue serving the Lakemoor community at Shopko Optical.”
With the opening of Shopko Optical in Lakemoor, five to seven jobs will be created, according to the release. Shopko Optical’s Kids in Focus program will also work with Lakemoor’s local Lions Club to provide comprehensive eye exam and pair of glasses at no charge to kids in need.
Shopko Optical accepts most major vision plans, including EyeMed, UHC Vision, Davis Vision, Superior Vision and Avesis, according to the release. Shopko Optical is also an open-access provider for VSP.
